Taiwan and Poland held the 13th bilateral economic consultations Nov. 14 in the Polish city of Wrocław to expand business cooperation and industry exchanges, the Ministry of Economic Affairs said.
According to the MOEA, the event was jointly convened by Deputy Economic Minister Cynthia Kiang from Taiwan and Michał Jaros, secretary of state of the Polish Ministry of Economic Development and Technology.
During the consultations, Kiang said that following Poland’s record-size delegation last year, the 2025 Taiwan delegation, comprising more than 100 members, was the largest ever. This reflects the government’s commitment to strengthening business ties with Poland, she added, noting that the Taiwan-Poland partnership is also an excellent example of Taiwan-Europe trade cooperation.
Jaros praised the increasingly close economic relationship, calling Taiwan a key and trusted trade partner. He added that Poland aims to build resilient and secure supply chains with Taiwan and is working to streamline business procedures to provide one-stop services for Taiwanese firms seeking to expand their presence in the country.
The MOEA said the two sides discussed ways to enhance cooperation in information and communications technology, semiconductors, small and medium enterprise innovation, and renewable energy. They also signed a memorandum of understanding to support the development of special economic zones and industrial parks and renewed an MOU on SME, innovation and startup cooperation.
A day earlier, Kiang delivered remarks at the 21st Taiwan-Poland Joint Business Council in Łódź, where about 100 enterprises from the two sides explored expanded collaboration in green energy development, energy-saving technologies, automation and ICT.
Statistics show that bilateral trade amounted to US$2.08 billion in 2024, with accumulated Taiwanese investment in the EU member state reaching US$98.85 million as of September 2025, making Poland Taiwan’s sixth-largest trading partner in the EU. (SFC-E)
